The fabulous Jenni Izzo recently sat in on Bravo’s  conference call for The Rachel Zoe Project! Here are her findings:

As you know, The Rachel Zoe Project will be premiering next Tuesday, August 3. The first episode, appropriately titled “Changes in the Zoe Camp,” should answer everyone’s main question: “What happened with Taylor?” To get ready for the premiere and give us a taste of what’s to come, Bravo held a press conference call with the woman behind Team Zoe.

In true Rachel fashion, 99% of her answers started with some variation of “Oh. My. God/Goodness.” I was a bit disappointed at the lack of I die’s, but she did make up for it with a few well-placed ah-ma-zing’s. Surprisingly, the conference call seemed to have more to do with Rachel as a fashion “icon” and less with her as a Bravo-lebrity. While she will (of course) be attending Fashion Week, this will be her first year not advertising her show on Bravo. Instead, she will be focused on whoring out her QVC line. Rachel rattled off a list of designers she is looking most forward to seeing. Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Proenza, Michael Kors and Derek Lam topped the list of the usual suspects.

As for big things on the fashion horizon for fall, Rachel predicts statement jewelry, oversized cocktail rings and over-the-knee boots for women and pocket squares, messenger bags and backpacks for men.

Now, onto the good stuff. When asked what the most important qualities she looks for in an assistant, she replied with a voice filled with resentment: “Trust, honestly and loyalty are the most important. Everything else can be learned, but they can not.” As most know, Ashley will fill Taylor’s shoes, and Rachel is happy to report that Ashley and Brad are getting along perfectly. (What a bummer for us.) Interesting (and hard to believe) fact: Rachel’s company experiences “very low turn over.” In fact, in her more than 15 years, she has only had to fire two employees.

Roger was brought up a few times and Rachel was quick to say that he will be much more “vocal” this season. As we see in the promo, Roger is the one to break the news of Taylor’s departure (followed immediately by Brad’s “shocked” face). Rachel said that he is key in picking up after Hurricane Taylor. And although he was always the “strong, silent” type, this season he will be more of the “strong, unsilent” type. So, in summary… Roger will no longer be Rachel’s whipping boy.

Amy from FabSugar was on the call and referenced Rachel’s Zoeinator video, produced by PopSugar TV. Rachel was a really good sport about it, saying, “No one loves making fun of themselves more than me,” (are you sure? Have you seen some of these websites?) adding “If you can’t beat them, join them.”

Next up from Miss Zoe? She says that a fashion magazine could potentially be on her horizon. It would be a perfect storm of her favorites: Vogue, W, Harper’s Bazaar and V. And one thing is for sure, the publication will definitely be “oversized” … just like her preference in clothing.

The Rachel Zoe Project returns to Bravo next Tuesday, August 3 at 10 p.m. What are you most excited for in this season? The star-studded appearances? Seeing how Team Zoe functions without Taylor? Share below in the comments.
